In the Intro do Digital Media class I worked with two different projects. One was a major project and the assignment was to create a website/web campaign for a NPO. I picked a NPO that works with child sex exploitation and they have an office in Brazil.
The campaign goals was to make people aware that Brazil is one of the destination for child sex abusers. I created a banner to run on sites like Expedia that asked users to take a quiz. After beeing redirected to the NPO website, the user could answer to questions about Brazil and the character would win school supplies as the user gets the answers correct. Otherwise if the user answers the quiz incorrectly, the character would fade away from the classroom where the quiz is taken. Check some screen grabs below.
The other one we had to interview someone from the design/web industry and design something related to that interview. I had the chance to interview Jimmy Wahles, founder of Wikipedia, by email. That's how the animation turned out.
