4th Quater - S{o}ta

One of the most exciting projects at school was this one. Redesign the Society of Typographic Aficionados website. The S{o}ta association is like the AIGA but only for type stuff. They put up Typecon every year. And one of the goals of the website was to define how to incorporate the Typecon biannual website in the Sota site.

I had Witt Langstaff, that time still an Iconologic team member, as the instructor for this class. We worked individually at first, but afterwards we formed two groups to narrow down some layouts. Finally we presented the project as a single group composed by myself, Cecilia Firouzabadi, Hayley Reaver, Jennifer Howard and Matt Johnson.

Along with the presentation to the critique panelists, we had to present to some Sota board members via video conference. That was the final strive of a very awesome project at PC.

Here is my approach to the new design.

Also we came up with some guerrilla advertising to help on the website activation. An iPhone app where you can take pictures of good type and upload to the Sota Flickr photo stream. For the traditional designers out there, we created some stickers to spread the word and bring users to the web page.
